About The Founder
Gregory Kirby has been the pastor of the Steeple Chase Baptist Church since its inception in 1997, as well as the founder and CEO of Steeple Community Economic Development Corporation. He established this 501-(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 1999 with the aims of implementing education and training, promoting healthy families, mentoring and enriching children's lives, and striving for economic empowerment through housing and business ventures. A native of Marvell, Arkansas, Rev. Kirby attended the University of Arkansas for three years and later graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor's degree in Speech Communication. He also served four years in the United States Air Force while pursuing his undergraduate education. Pastor Kirby received his calling to the ministry at age 29, attended and graduated from the Southwestern Theological Seminary with a Master's degree in Divinity in Church Growth and Evangelism. His vision and training led him to successful pastoral and evangelic endeavors all throughout the region and nation. He continues to further his education, as he pursues a Doctoral degree in Church Growth and Developing Strategies for Church Planting.
Pastor Kirby is a member of the Shreveport Ministers’ Conference, the National Baptist Convention of America, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and the Black Democratic Caucus. In addition to working in various organizations, Pastor Kirby is the Founder and President of Nationwide Christian Ministry Fellowship, a fellowship of brothers with the primary purpose of networking in Christian Ministry. Pastor Kirby is sought after nationally to lecture on leadership development, and church growth/evangelism, as well as unconventional models of church planting and revival preaching. He also enjoys mentoring youth. Pastor Kirby is the author of two (2) books, “Giving an Invitation for a Positive Response: Closing the Deal on a Devine Destiny" and “Why Forgiveness Makes Sense: Heal Your Heart, Rebuild Your Life".
