Steeple Community Economic Development Corporation, Inc. (SCEDC) was established in 1999 by Gregory Kirby with a two-fold purpose in mind.  Its goals are to impact the community in ways that will restore the institution of family and relate to the lives of at-risk children and to enhance economic empower for individuals seeking business ventures and partnering with existing businesses.

Working with parents, teachers, the community, businesses, and other social service organizations in Shreveport and Bossier City to address the comprehensive educational needs of children, our organization prepares participants in elementary, middle, and high school for post-secondary education, careers, and/or vocational training to become responsible, productive adults who, in turn, will give their time and talents back to their communities.

The mission of our corporation is to meet the community through implementing education and training; to promote healthy families; mentoring and enrichment for the children as well as to promote economic empowerment through business ventures and housing.
