Our organization prepares participants in elementary/middle school for post secondary education, careers and/or vocational training to become responsible, productive adults who, in turn, will give thier time and talents back to thier communities.

Our main focus this far has been primarily youth and children initiatives. This is the third year of a state funded program entitled Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program (TPPP). Our TPPP gives young people real-life tools to make good decisions while building their confidence and teaching new skills.

We host a FREE afterschool program for students in grades 4-12, Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. We offer:

• Mentoring
• Health and Nutrition
• Fitness Center
• Arts & Crafts
• Computer Lab
• Music
• Snacks
• Transportation from school to our program and from there to your home

Besides the regular pastimes such as bowling, movies, picnics, cookouts and skating, we give participants a wide variety of fun cultural and educational ventures. Here are some of the places we've gone and things they have been exposed to:

• Norton Art Gallery
• The Petting Zoo
• Chimp Haven
• "The Faces of Emmitt Till" at the Strand Theatre
• New Orleans and toured the Hurricane Katrina areas; Dillard University; Museum of the Aquarius
• Baton Rouge and toured Southern University and LSU
• Natchitoches and toured Northwestern University and the Christmas lights
• Monthly visits to a nursing home
• Participates in the African American History Parade each year
• Music production, as students wrote their own theme song and made a CD
